Change in Timing of Food

Guys we would have to change to timing of food because lots of muslims are fasting and they are able to eat at 7:15 so we would have to start our mean at that time then.

For lanterns, i would teach paulina and bring her the stuff and then she'll give it to all girls and you guys could do it :)

The Pomelo peeling contest

The pomelo peeling contest which originated last year in the multicultural night would also be done this year too, since the pomelo is related to the moon festival then this event would also have a contest between teachers, parents support group, and the scholars where the first group to fully peel the rind off would be the victor.

It would be kind of like a traditional thing that we would do each year that is have a pomelo contest in that we would have s representative from three groups: asean scholars, PRC scholars, and Teachers. The winner would hold to golden lantern trophy that we would have to make till the next year’s pomelo peeling contest where they would fight for the golden lantern again.

Rules:

Peel of the skin of the pomelo fully, once the team thinks they have fully peeled the pomelo they would raise up their hands and the scholars committee would inspect the pomelo. If the pomelo does not pass the team would have to continue peeling it. If the pomelo passes then the team wins. The first team to do so wins. They would be given a random object to help them peel the pomelo, they may use it to help them peel the pomelo.

IC- Wu Bai

You are to prepare all the materials for the game itself. Sun will help you do the golden lantern. Any questions ask Sun.

Mid-Autumn festival quiz

The moon festival quiz would give the audience a glimpse and the story behind the Mid-autumn festival such as Houyi and Chang’e, The Jade Rabbit, or and the Overthrow of the Mongol rule. They would also know the traditions done on the moon festival itself too.

Create a quiz on Mid-Autumn festival that would contain about 14 questions. A multiple choice questions with four answers to choose from. Type on a paper, MC will read on that day.

IC – Sun, this one I will prepare myself  :)

Hari-Raya quiz

The Hari-Raya quiz would also give the audience a glimpse and insightful information on Hari Raya and the customs and traditions on the day, it would also give us an insight on how Hari Raya came to be and the significance of the day.

Create a quiz on Hari Raya that would contain about 14 questions. A multiple choice questions with four answers to choose from. Type on a paper, MC will read on that day.

IC- Paulina

You are to prepare the quiz and give it to Sun ASAP.

Simple Drama on “The Jade Rabbit”

In this simple drama we will tell the audience about a story on the Jade Rabbit which is a Chinese folktale story about a rabbit who sacrificed himself in order to give food for the old men.
In this legend, three fairy sages transformed themselves into pitiful old men, and begged for food from a fox, a monkey, and a hare. The fox and the monkey both had food to give to the old men, but the hare, empty-handed, jumped into a blazing fire to offer his own flesh instead. The sages were so touched by the hare's sacrifice and act of kindness that they let him live in the Moon Palace, where he became the "Jade Rabbit".

We would have to create a 15 minutes simple drama on it, you are free to do anything but it should not be too complicated. No complicated props or costumes are needed maybe have only simple signs telling who is the goddess, the fox, etc.

ICs - Xiao Wen and Xiao Yu
You are free to do it anyway you like as long as you tell them to story and occupy fifteen minutes :)
You guys are to prepare the whole drama and have scholars to act them out :) Let me repeat the it DOESN'T HAVE TO BE VERY COMPLICATED

Ok guys this is the New Scholars Committee blog

Ok guys for the sake of our communication this is the blog i was talking about, in this way we log down our meetings or discussions or suggestions. E.g Wu Bai wants to have a BBQ dinner, then you write down everything here for everyone to see, then everything is easier to comment and stuff also teachers like Mrs. Ang, Mr. Oh or Mdm. Norah could track us in this way and post new jobs or updates to scholars.
